Giving a modern take to the classic Nordic Puukko, the Fjord from Steel Will utilizes the same innovative front flipper design as their Scylla for fast deployment even in gloves. The straight spine blade and neutral handle are versatile in use, with a robust liner lock construction for strength and safety. This version comes with a black stonewashed D2 blade and gray G10 handles.
Brand new, direct from Steel Will Knives.
Blade: Black stonewashed D2 tool steel comes with a flat grind up to the fullers and a straight spine profile that excels at utility work. The grind provides a good balance of performance and strength, while the ball bearing pivot delivers smooth operation and fast deployment via the thumb stud front flipper. Matte stonewashed black is non-reflective and hides wear from use.
Handle: Black steel liners support chamfered G10 scales that are durable and weather resistant with texture for a solid grip. Jimping on the partial back spacer and liner lock give added traction in the hand, and the steel liner lock is smooth and rock solid for safe use.
Carries via a reversible, tip-up stainless steel deep carry clips.
D2 Tool Steel: Used as a die cutting steel since WW II, D2 offers a good combination of hardness and wear resistance with moderate toughness and stain resistance. High chromium content for a tool steel (10-13%) gives D2 better corrosion resistance than most high carbon steels.
